A cardiologist is a doctor who looks after your heart and blood vessels. They diagnose and treat conditions that affect your cardiovascular system.
Your cardiologist may recommend one or more of the following tests. These are all available on-site.
Cardiac CT scan: A scan that uses X-ray and computer software to create detailed images of the heart and arteries.
Cardiac MRI scan: A scan that uses magnets and radio waves to produce images of the inside of your heart.
Echocardiogram: A type of ultrasound scan used to look at your heart and blood vessels. It might also be called an ‘echo’ or ‘heart ultrasound’.
Electrocardiogram (ECG): A test that records your heart’s electrical activity, including its rate and rhythm.
Stress echo: A type of echocardiogram carried out while your heart is working harder (usually during exercise). This is done to see how it performs under stress.
If you need surgery or another treatment we can’t provide at the centre, you can attend any one of our London hospitals. This includes Cromwell Hospital in Kensington, King Edward VII’s Hospital in Marylebone, and New Victoria Hospital in Kingston upon Thames.
