We offer advanced imaging onsite, including X-rays and MRI scans. We can also provide imaging-guided injections for rapid pain relief.

FAQs

MSK stands for musculoskeletal. This is your muscles, bones, and joints (the parts that help you move). MSK care treats problems like back pain, arthritis, and sports injuries. Treatments often include physiotherapy, exercise plans, and pain relief.

Orthopaedics is a specialist area within MSK. It focuses on more complex issues, like broken bones, joint problems, or conditions that may need surgery. Orthopaedic consultants usually handle both non-surgical and surgical treatments, while MSK care is usually non-surgical.

Our orthopaedic specialists work together to provide you with the best care. They include:

Orthopaedic surgeons: Doctors who perform surgery for bone, joint, and muscle problems. Each surgeon focuses on specific areas, such as spine, hips, knees, shoulders, feet, or hands. They also consider non-surgical options for the same conditions.

MSK and sports medicine physicians: Doctors who specialise in non-surgical treatments for musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions and sports injuries.

Physiotherapists: Healthcare professionals who use exercise, massage, and other treatments to help you move better and feel less pain.

MSK physicians focus on non-surgical care for muscles, joints, and soft tissue problems. They’ll often use treatments such as physiotherapy, exercise plans, pain management, or injections. MSK care is ideal if your symptoms are mild to moderate or you want to avoid surgery.

Orthopaedic consultants see more complex problems, especially those that may need surgery. This includes fractures, severe injuries, and symptoms that haven’t improved with non-surgical care. They also manage conditions like ligament tears, bone deformities, and joint replacements.

Not sure who you need to see? Give our team a call on 020 4604 9394.

Your consultant may recommend one or more of the following tests. These are all available on-site.

CT scan: A scan that uses X-ray and computer software to create detailed images of inside your body. It’s used for examining bones that are affected by arthritis, injury, or surgery.

MRI scan: A scan that uses magnets and radio waves to produce images of inside your body. This includes the bones, joints, and soft tissues. It’s often used for diagnosing sports injuries and monitoring their recovery.

Ultrasound: A scan that uses high frequency sound waves to create images of inside of your body. This includes the tendons, muscles, and joints. Ultrasound helps diagnose strains, sprains, tears, and soft-tissue conditions. It can also guide pain relief injections.

X-ray: A scan that produces detailed images of the body using a type of harmless radiation. It’s often used to check for bone fractures or arthritis.

If you need surgery or another treatment we can’t provide at the centre, you can attend any one of our London hospitals. This includes Cromwell Hospital in Kensington, King Edward VII’s Hospital in Marylebone, and New Victoria Hospital in Kingston upon Thames.

If you’re paying for your own care, please get in touch with us on 020 4604 9394. We’ll give you a clear price for your consultation and explain any costs for further tests or treatment.
