Private oral and maxillofacial care in Canary Wharf

At Bupa Health Care Canary Wharf, we’re here to provide expert oral and maxillofacial care for a range of conditions – from head and neck cancer to impacted teeth.

Our strength lies in our expertise. You’ll be treated by consultants who also work at some of London’s leading NHS hospitals. They’ll collaborate with other specialists to give you the best care for complex cases.

We see a range of conditions, from cancer to facial injuries and dental problems that need surgery. As part of a multidisciplinary team, we work with other specialists to deliver personalised care for complex cases.

At the clinic, you can access consultations, diagnostic tests, and, if needed, surgical planning. Most tests can be done during your visit.

If you need surgery, we’ll refer you to Cromwell Hospital – the UK’s largest private head and neck centre. Here, we treat more cases than any other private hospital in London.

You don’t need to be a Bupa member to visit us. We also welcome self-paying patients and those covered by other insurers.

FAQs

An oral and maxillofacial surgeon specialises in treating conditions of the mouth, jaws, face, neck, temporomandibular joints (TMJ), and salivary glands. This type of surgery is unique because it requires a doctor to have dental and surgical training.

Our team has extensive experience in treating head and neck cancer. This includes complex facial reconstruction and functional restoration after treatment.

They also manage conditions including facial trauma, deformities, and impacted wisdom teeth.

Your surgeon may recommend one or more of the following tests. These are all available on-site.

CT scan: A scan that uses X-ray and computer software to create detailed images of inside your body. It’s useful for planning treatment in cases such as facial trauma or impacted teeth.

Fine needle aspiration: A short test that uses a thin needle to collect cells from lumps, often carried out under ultrasound guidance. The sample is then analysed in a lab to help confirm a diagnosis.

MRI scan: A scan that uses magnets and radio waves to produce images of inside your body. It’s often used to diagnose TMJ disorders, detect soft tissue tumours, and stage cancers.

OPG X-ray: A panoramic X-ray that captures a single image of your entire mouth, including all teeth, upper and lower jaws, and surrounding structures. It’s useful for assessing impacted teeth, jaw problems, and screening for dental and bony abnormalities.

Ultrasound: A scan that uses high frequency sound waves to create images of soft tissues in the face and neck. It can help assess lumps, masses, or other abnormalities in these areas.

If you need surgery or another treatment we can’t provide at the centre, you’ll be referred to Cromwell Hospital in Kensington. Cromwell Hospital houses the UK’s largest private head and neck centre, where you’ll receive expert care.

The centre brings together a team of oral and maxillofacial surgeons, oncologists, prosthodontists, and dentists. They hold regular multidisciplinary meetings to review cases and plan the best possible treatment for every patient.

If you’re paying for your own care, please get in touch with us on 020 4604 9394. We’ll give you a clear price for your consultation and explain any costs for further tests or treatment.
