Mr Joseph Aquilina

Mr Aquilina is a Consultant Gynaecologist at St Bartholomew’s and the Royal London Hospitals and Honorary Senior Lecturer at Queen Mary University of London.

Mr Aquilina completed his postgraduate training at King’s College and Greenwich Hospitals. He subsequently undertook research and sub specialty training in feto-maternal medicine/gynaecological ultrasound as a lecturer at St Bartholomew’s and Royal London Medical School, Queen Mary Westfield College, based at Homerton Hospital. He provides a specialist service in Fetal Medicine and Gynaecological Ultrasound.

Since his NHS appointment in October 2000 he has set up a Fetal Medicine Service at the Royal London and a one-stop Menstrual Disorder clinic at Barts and SJE with immediate access to Transvaginal USS and Saline Sonography. He is recognised as a preceptor for training in gynaecological scanning by the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. He was an Associate Editor for the Women’s Health Section of Current Opinion in Obstetrics and Gynaecology from 2005 to 2023.
